| Author's POV |
"Hii!! What are you doing, and how are you?" He chimmed from the other side of call her, asking about her health.
"Nothing just binge watching." she replied shrugging her shoulders.
"Acha, aapko koi craving ho rahi hai?" he asked out of nowhere making her chuckle.
[Ok, do you crave for something?]
She giggled at him and replied, "Aise suddenly ye question kyun?"
[Why this question suddenly?]
"Ummm nothing... It’s just, aapko 6 bje tak bhukh lag jati hain na, toh humne socha usse pehle hi puch lein, taki aapko wait na karna pade...." he scratched the back of his back nervously while replying from the other end.
[Umm nothing... It's just, You get hungry by 6 o'clock, so I thought I should ask him before that, so that you don't have to wait...."]
"Ohhkay!! But Garvit ji, you really shouldn't have to worry about it. I'll make myself a small snack, in which my devar ji will accompanyㅡ" she was trying to make him understand when he cut her off in between.
"Ok baba, I know very well how independent you are, but humein bhi toh kabhi aapki seva karne ka mauka dijiye naa!!" he tried to make her understand with gentleness in his tone.
"Haha, thik hai, but abh....aap apna kaam kijiye." she giggled again and asked him to do his work as it is important. (according to her)
(Haha, okay now....do your work.)
"Hum apna kaam hi toh kar rahe hain!" he replied closing his eyes with warm a smile on his face from the other side of call.
(I'm just doing my job.)
"Ji?" she frowned and asked being confused.
(Yes?)
"Aapka khayal rakhna, aapki har zarurat puri karna, aapko khush rakhna, hi toh humara kaam, first priority, aur jaan se zada kimti chiz hai." He blushed himself as he said the most buttery line and grinned broadly in his sincere response.
(Taking care of you, fulfilling your every need, keeping you happy, this is our work, first priority, and something as precious as our life.)
She was surprised, as never had someone ever said something like this to her, and here she thought,
'Jo bhi lafz Arv ne kaha humare liye, bahot kimti tha, ek pal ke liye laga ki ye jhuth bhi ho sakta hai..... Lekin unki kahe har ek shabd mei uss sach ki gehrai thi, jo sach humne aaj tak kisi se nahi suna. Vo bhi poore saaf dil se.' she chuckled before continuing in her mind.
'My heart fluttered with his this sweet gesture. I was not able to believe....But his every said word seemed true.
And I can detect his truth.' a soft hue of pink color painted her cheeks as she thought them.
But her eyes were conveying a different story.
Tears were ready to cascade down her honey-brown skin.
Tears of goodness.
Tears of relief.
Tears of being loved by someone.
"Hello? Idha ji aap call pe hain na?" he asked her when she didn't replied.
(Idha ji, are you there?)
"Uhmm... Yeah I'm here, say na." she replied looking down in shyness coming out of her trance and wiped her tears.
"Great! Now tell your Jinnie husband, that what this Queen craves for." he asked her excitedly which left Sunidha laugh like maniac.
"You know what?" he questioned again and received a 'hmm?' from her, who was sobbering herself from the laughing session.
"Your laugh is the best muse to hear, but not more than you and your heartbeat close to me, which blesses my ears everytime you are close to me." he confessed to her, which ceased her laugh and made her blush again.
"Garvittttt jiiii!!! Itni pyaari baatein kaise kar lete hain aap??" she asked mockingly becoming a red tomato.
"Bass!! Aapke sath rehte hain, toh ye baatein yun-hin ho jatin hain!" he replied nonchalantly making her scoff and chuckle at his antics.
"Aapko koi cramps toh nahin aa rahe na?" he asked out of no where.
*Knock-knock*
"Garvit ji, just a second, someone has come to the room." she informed him.
"Ahhhhh!!!" and just when she stood up she yelped in pain clutching her stomach.
"KYA HUA SUNIDHA JI?? AAP THIK HAIN.?? HUM AAYE JYS GHAR?? HUMNE KAHA THA NA AAPSE KHYAAL RAKHNE KO.... AAPKE AAS PAAS KOI NAI HAI KYA...? WAIT!! HUMEIN AANA HI PADEGA, FHIR HUM DOCTOR KE PAAS CHALENGE, HNN??" he stood up in panic from his chair and said those words in a swift of motion in one breath, fetching his car keys and over coat.
Ready to rush out from his cabin and reach to his wife, his jaan as soon as possible.
"H-hum thik hain Garvit ji. Aap pareshan na hoiye. Aur dekhen, abh toh Ivy bhi aa gaye hain." she spoke after a while, opening the door of their room.
(Ivy - refering to Neil, Garvit's 15-year-old brother and her lovely devar.)
"Nahi hum aapki ek nahin sunenge, bas aap thoda rukiye, hum abbi aate hain." he hurriedly told her.
"STATUE!!" she shouted playfully from the other end.
"Not again Idhaa!!" he whinned like baby.
"You are still right?" she asked squinting her eyes.
"As you say my goddess!" he replied smilingly.
"I'm totally fine okay? And don't you dare to leave your work, I can handle myself, hnn? And Ok, talk to Ivy. Here." she reaasured him and hadled her phone to her brother-in-law.
"Bhai, don't worry, I'm here with Immy! *both chuckles* you can coms at night. Don't worry okay! Bye." he said sarcastically.
But with the truth that he will take care of his Immy i.e. His bhabi with great carefulness and love.
Just as he was about to emd the call, Garvit told him to wait and move out of the room for some talk.
After their brief talk, Neil headed to Sunidha and Sunidha and Garvit's room, only to find out that she was already asleep, clutching her stomach.
So he sat down on the couch with his love, his i-pad and started studying.
By the time Garvit arrived home and quickly headed to their room after answering what his baba asked to him in the drawing room.
As he entered, a wave of cool breeze in scent of his wife hit his nostrils, filling up his lungs till the alveolar cavity, as he closed his eyes.
"Neil, you can go I'm here now." he told his brother and he nodded smilingly, who was delved in his studies, he gave him a side hug before leaving the room.
He came closer to her and sat beside her in the hanging couch, caressing her head adorably whose face was scrunched in dismfort and pecked her forehead, lingering his lips there for sometime before parting away.
As her subconcious detected his presence, she quickly snuggled in his warm embrace, hugging his torso and unknitting her creased eyebrows with his touch.
He giggled at his wifie's cute antics.
They stayed like that for long time, then he prepared something for her, and due to emergency, he left the home after calling Neil to stay in their room, to gaurd her.
She woke up and saw her Ivy sitting and studying.
"Ivy!"she croaked in her sleepy voice while rubbing her eyes with the back of her palm.
" Immy! Uth gaye. Bhai ne humare liye kuch manaya hai, chalo chake unki cooking skills ko rating deye hain." he cracked a joke making her giggle whike she was rubbing her eyes from the back of her hand like a baby.
'Matlab jab hum soch re the ki Arv humare sapne mein aaye the, vo sapna nahin sach tha. Aur shayad unhone hi room ke curtains khinchein honge. How many more little things he learns of mine, Bholenath?' she thoughts in her mind while smiling, asking her Bholenath.
"Chaliye, baba aur aapke sath mil kar khate hain." she chimmed in.
"Yeah!!!" he shouted in excitement.
"Wait Immy, lemme help you get up. Slowly okay?" he helped her, and put crocks beneath her foot by kneeling in front of her, and they both left the room to savour their great chef's dish.
At night~
Garvit's sleep broke as he sensed some movement besides him.
"IDHAA!!" he shreiked out when he saw Suunidha writhing in pain, wiggling in the bed here and there.
The remaining sleep flew away from his eyes as he saw his jaan crying silently closing her eyes shut.
Her eyebrows kept knitting and unknitting in pain, instinctively she clutched her stomach tightly.
"Let's go to the hospital." he declared getting up from bed.
He grabbed his phone from the chest of the drawer beside him, and made a call to his baba.
"Baba, quickly take out the car to go to the hospital." he said and hung up, moving towards the closet to bring her shawl.
"Aaram se uthiye." he carefully made her sit on bed, sho was not even able to say anything.
"Arv!" she whispered, enough audible to him.
"Ji, kahiye?" he replied as he wrapped a shawl around her and sat on his knees, taking both her hands in his, caressing them with the pad of his thumb.
She opened her tear filled red eyes and shook her head in 'no'.
He quickly understood and kissed her palms and then her forehead and consoled her,
"Aap dariye nai, hnn? Hum hain aapke sath. Hum, baba, Neil, sab hain, aapke bholenath bhi toh apke sath hain na. Ab please deri nai karte na, humein turant hospital pahochna hoga, hnn?"
She nodded.
He slipped her crocks in her feet gently.
"I can walk." she said as he helped helped her getting uo from bed.
He placed his right hand behind the small of her back and with the other one, held her palm to provide support.
She walked slowly with him, outside their room came Neil running asking,
"Immy!! What happend?? Why your face looks so drained and pale??"
"Neil no words, we are taking her to the hospital." Garvit declared and he understood.
"Lemme bring your stuff, tou go ahead." he said and rushed in their room.
"Ahhh!!! Arv!!!" she hissed and cried in pain as she took a step down the staircase.
"I swear Idha ji!! Don't stress yourself when I'm here." he benovelanted as lifted her up in his arms in bridal style.
He adjusted her shawl and securely lifted her up, and she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly amd rested her head on his chest, while tears kept tracing down her face, which was red due to crying and yelping in pain.
"You don't even have to lift your weight when I'm around, pleasee." he requested so that she can understand but right now she was feeling the intense pain in her stomach that was making her senses go numb.
Her hands and feet grew cold with each passing time.
Neil opened the door for them, and Garvit settled down in car with her in his lap, continuously caressing her head and back to provide her some warmth.
"Nritya, bas thode der mein hum pahoch jaenge hospital mera bacha, aap mere strong bache ho na? Bas thoda aur wait kar lo na." their baba cooed jer daughter-in-law, which is just a term, as he loves her more than his own kids.
She is his chanchal-chehekti jaan se pyaari beti.
But right now she is writhing in pain, which gave a sharp pang in his heart to watch his ghar-ki-rounak in pain.
Neil closed the door, sat im front and they rushed to the hospital.
"I can't bear it anymore, Arv." she whispered and looked at him with her russet-brown eyes, which were red now.
She cried out when the pace of contractions increase in her lower abdomen, so she held Garvit's wrist in a deadly strong grip and here he thought,
'She held my hand, so tightly that her nail were dugging my skin just above my pulse point, supressing them.
I doubt if she ever had a habit of having long nails and if she had it now, then it would have pierced my flesh, so that my warm blood would seep out.....
But that was not my concern, as mine was to comfort her, lessen her pain by every hook of my will which I can do, no matter if it includes caressing her, pecking her, cudddling her, or what so ever.
But even if she is the reason of my death.
I would gladly accept it as my greatest victory. As she has me and I'm hers....
Either to love or to ruin.
As she has a heart of an innocent baby like our Zivaa.
Who only knows to love, and not to hate or to hold grudges against people.'
Her breath became uneven, her grip on his shirt which was strong...started to loose and her hand dropped from his hold as she slowly lost her conscious and her eyes started to shut,
"Idhaaaaa!!!!..........."
